What we collect, and what we do with it.

Effective October 17, 2026

The Clean Opinion (“we”) runs thecleanopinion.com. This policy says what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what choices you have. Questions go to hello@thecleanopinion.com.

What we collect

  • What you give us. Your name, work email, company and phone number when you use a scorecard, a tool or the booking form. Your answers and scores. Policy documents you upload for review.
  • What your browser sends. The pages you visit, the site that sent you (for example, LinkedIn), campaign tags in the link you clicked, browser and device type, and country. We count these in total. We do not build a profile of you from them.
  • What we do not collect. We do not take card numbers on this site, and we do not buy data about you from anyone.

How we use it

  • To send the report or result you asked for.
  • To send one short follow-up note, written with help from our assistant, and to answer your replies. A person reads every reply. We do not run a drip campaign, and every note has a one-click unsubscribe.
  • To prepare for a call you booked.
  • To learn which articles, tools and posts bring visitors, so we write more of what helps.
  • To keep the site secure and working.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising on other sites.

Cookies and browser storage

We use two small cookies of our own and a few browser storage items. None of them track you on other websites, and we run no advertising trackers. Our analytics tool, Umami, runs on our own server and sets no cookies.

tco_src
Cookie · 30 days
Remembers how you first found us (for example, a LinkedIn post), so a form you send later shows the right source.
tco_consent
Cookie · 1 year
Remembers your answer to the cookie notice.
sb-…-auth-token
Local storage · Until you sign out
Keeps you signed in to the policy review.
tco-scorecard-v2
Local storage · Until you finish
Saves your scorecard answers if you reload the page.
tco-lead, tco-tool-event, review run
Session storage · Until you close the tab
Keeps your reference number, a tool result or a running review if you reload the tab.

The tco_src cookie holds campaign tags, the site that sent you (not the page), the first page you saw and the time. It holds no name or email. You can turn it off here at any time:

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Sign-in to the policy review does not work without its storage item.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We do not track you on other websites, and we let no one else do so on our site. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not set the tco_src cookie and we do not show the cookie notice.

Who we share it with

  • Alpha Secure LLP, our partner firm, when you ask to speak with them, for example by booking a call or ordering a full review.
  • Service providers that run parts of the site for us: website and email hosting (Hostinger), sign-in and file storage (Supabase), email delivery (Resend), and AI processing of uploaded policies and draft replies (Anthropic). They may use your data only to provide their service to us.
  • The law. When a court order or a law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep lead records and reports so we can follow up, and we delete them when you ask. Analytics counts hold no personal information.

Free policy check: Your document is deleted the moment your report is generated. It is never used to train any model. The report keeps the short quotes it cites from your document as evidence. Full review: Your files are deleted the moment Alpha Secure LLP approves your report. Nothing is used to train any model. The report keeps the short quotes it cites from your files as evidence.
